The shiny hardware going home with the winners of the EQ Awards!
At the EQ Awards Gala on February 23, a highly talented group of builders, renovators, an evaluator and more took home hardware in recognition of their terrific work!
Two new awards this year went to industry leaders - the Builder Achievement Award, sponsored by JELD-WEN, went home with Doug Tarry in recognition for his significant contributions through his commitment to continuous learning, passion and leadership.
Mattamy Homes won the new Impact Award, for builders who make a long-term, significant voluntary progress in reducing carbon emissions and showing outstanding achievements through energy efficiency and sustainable practices. Mattamy was one of the first builders in the country to embrace ENERGY STAR for New Homes more than a decade ago.
Empire Communities co-founder Paul Golini Jr was named to the EQ Hall of Fame in front of a cheering crowd.
At the Innovation Gauntlet held at the Housing Innovation Forum during the day, it was our toughest field ever of strong contenders. Five innovative products went up in front of a panel of "dragons" and the results were voted on by attendees at the Forum.
Despite the strong contenders, Eddy Home and their water-monitoring technology were selected by the attendees as having the Most Innovative Product.
The Housing Innovation Forum and Awards takes place in February each year, and is put on by EnerQuality. The Awards are juried and judged by a panel of industry professionals, including builders, building officials, suppliers and more. For more information, visit www.eqinnovation.ca.
